
Lisa Knight

Adult Neurology
Lisa qualified in 1989 and completed a Masters in Physiotherapy Advancing Practice in 2011. She has very extensive clinical experience in physiotherapy and hydrotherapy as well as research and teaching experience. For a number of years she was the Clinical Specialist at the Regional Rehabilitation Unit, Northwick Park. She now works in her own private practice and is visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire. She is an established expert witness and has given evidence in Court.

Kathryn Mares

Adult Neurology
Kath qualified as a physiotherapist in 1993, she worked clinically in the NHS until 2005 and now has her own private practice. She specialises in neurological physiotherapy and has extensive experience working with people with complex brain injuries, stroke and other long term neurological conditions. She gained her PhD in 2015 and also works as an Associate Professor in Physiotherapy at the University of East Anglia, where she is a lecturer and where she leads a research programme developing and testing digital technology for movement rehabilitation.

Tess Stone

Adult Neurology
Tess qualified in 2002 and has extensive clinical knowledge and experience in both neurological physiotherapy and aquatic physiotherapy. She helped set up the Multi Trauma Rehabilitation Unit at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge in 2011 and managed the physiotherapy team there for five years. She now works in private practice as a neuro-physiotherapist and sees people with a wide variety of clinical presentations, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, brachial plexus injury and long term neurological conditions. She has excellent knowledge and experience as both a clinician and expert witness.

Kathy McDougall

Adult Neurology
Kathy qualified as a physiotherapist in 2003 and has extensive experience as a neuro-physiotherapist, both in the NHS and privately. She has worked in several NHS Trusts including the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery. Kathy is currently lead physiotherapist with an independent community brain injury rehabilitation team, treating complex clients with physical and vestibular difficulties. Kathy has undergone medico-legal training and is developing her experience as an expert witness.

Karen Jackson

Adult Neurology
Karen is an experienced clinical specialist in adult neuro-physiotherapy and has worked in this area for over 25 years. She has treated clients from the acute phase of rehabilitation to the later stages, in a wide range of settings. This has enabled her to develop excellent insight into the client’s physiotherapy needs, throughout their life.
She has extensive clinical experience in neurology, neurosurgery and aquatic physiotherapy. She has studied neuro-physiotherapy at Masters Level and has research experience as a lead author.
She now works in her own private practice and finds that her clinical experience and knowledge complements and informs her work as an expert witness. She has undertaken medico legal training and has reported for both Claimant and Defendant cases.

Lucy Simmons

Adult Neurology
Lucy qualified in 2000 and gained a broad knowledge base in orthopaedics, respiratory and medicine for the elderly at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, before specialising in neurology. She completed a Masters degree in Health Sciences in 2011. She has excellent neuro-physiotherapy skills as well as experience in stroke research for the University of Cambridge. She worked as team leader within NHS community rehabilitation teams before establishing her own private neuro-physiotherapy practice. Lucy has undergone medico-legal training and is developing her experience as an expert witness.
